Adventure Sundays

Have you come up with any ideas with folks in your cell for alternative things we can do in CLC in those two upcoming Sundays Tim mentioned last week?

It'd be great to get out in Cambridge and be church "without walls". Being church is a prophetic statement that we're about impacting our community and enjoying and sharing God's life in our city, not just at one specific time in one specific place!

Come on and rise to the challenge to suggest an idea. Do you know someone who needs God's love shown to them through meeting a practical need, do you know a great community organization that would be blessed to have a dozen volunteers offering time and energy to do a job for them? Do you know a street that needs to be prayer-walked? We don't have to be limited by Sunday! Come up with an idea for some folks in your cell, or even something that we could all participate in.

I really like the litter picking as it works for even the youngest kids and it's blessing people in Cambridge, plenty of who we don't see in our Sunday gatherings. I'd like to see a prayer walk around some areas of the University or neighbourhoods where some of us live.

Let's unleash creativity and energy!
What can you dream up?
Come on CLC, we're the church!

Has anyone worked with the Besom project (http://www.besom.com/local-besoms/cambridge). perhaps we could hook up with the needs they are aware of.

What about going for a walk on the Sunday, inviting friends along, and then maybe having a picnic together and play outdoor games with the children.

Church: i love you and miss you. This is the first time i've logged on for a while, and this has caught my imagination... CLC's DNA, and Jesus's heartbeat is breaking down the walls. And revealing the doors of heaven and arms of the Father open WIDE.

A few of my suggestions from far away:

- a wall-breaking scavenger hunt around the city. aim: to get into conversation with people of different characteristics eg. someone with non-conventional hair colour, a goth, mum with kids, someone over 70, somebody of a different ethnic origin. With a couple of questions to get each person's views on, each time. eg If you could change anything about your life what would you change?
- the whole church and friends participating in a sponsored event together to raise money for a charity that reflects God's calling on us as a church/specific need of individual/group we are connected with
- Doing a '5 peaks' prayer and worship event... lifting up the name of Jesus over the city from the 5 highest points in Cambridge.

lots and lots of love, Allah ma'akum kulkum (God is with you, all of you)

I got one idea too, but I think part of what makes it work is the element of surprise that not everyone knows what is going to happen (it's nothing scary or embarrassing) so who do i tell?

yes, do tell.....

I love Sarah's ideas. We would need 1 or 2 in Cambridge to own making it happen. 25 July anyone?
