Welcome to you

We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, widowed, straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer or questioning.  We especially welcome wailing babies and excited toddlers. We welcome you whether you like to sing with your hands in the air (like you just don’t care) or prefer to contemplate the concept of worship with God quietly.

You’re welcome here if you see God as a He, a She, or if you’re not sure if God is real, or if you and The Almighty talk to each other regularly.  We don’t care if you think you are a great Christian or, like most of us, struggle with self doubt and often forget He loves you.  We welcome those who are over 30 and are realising they know less than they thought, and we extend a special welcome to teenagers who might be realising they know almost everything.

We welcome mums playing catch-up, football-watching dads, starving artists, tree huggers, latte sippers, vegetarians, junk food eaters, if you just woke up or just got out of prison.  We especially welcome those who are in recovery or not ready to own their addiction, the high and mighty and the down-in-the-dumps.

We welcome you if you’re having problems, you think you are a problem, can’t get organised, or don’t like organised religion—which we don’t like either.  We offer welcome to those who think the Earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or are here only because you are visiting friends in Cambridge. We welcome those who are inked, pierced, both or neither.  We want to make time for those on linked-in, facebook, youtube, twitter, snapchat, instagram, who don’t like the internet or don’t own a computer.

We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, had religion shoved down their throats as kids, are curious about spirituality, or found us by mistake. We welcome pilgrims, tourists, seekers, doubters, people who don’t like being categorised, and you.

inspired by welcome from Coventry Cathedral.

fun Swim, light lunch and water baptism.  Fantastic!

what a great day.  They say that when one sinner repents there is much rejoicing in Heaven.  There was much rejoicing in CLC too.

Why are we here? What’s the point?

We have a purpose that’s bigger than just you and me.  Come help us figure it out together.  We were never meant to live our lives without each other and He loves you dearly.  Our first Vision Sunday is 15th January.  See our calendar for details.

Plumbline Leaders Retreat 2016

One of the great things about our yearly Plumbline Leaders Retreat is Jean, from HCC, sharing a quiet and gentle Word of prophecy with folks one on one.  She uses beautiful picture postcards to kickstart Father talking to you through her.

Here’s the one she gave me this year.  The Word accompanying it was a simple: Sometimes Father wants you to relax.  There was more, but see her in the background of these photos?  That’s her in the middle sharing with another:

We had good input from Simon Matthews, other leaders in Plumbline, and very valuable relationship time to make new friends and deepen existing ones with our spiritual family members from Plumbline Ireland and Plumbline UK.

Tim shared about how we can run up our ‘rev counter’ like  a car but need to be prepared to change gears–shifting up as well as shifting down, depending on what’s right in His timing for us.

Rosemary‘s stories were my favourites and Graeme‘s gift for teaching always shines through too.   All these recordings and the rest are on the Plumbline Facebook page for you to check out to get a sense of the Plumbline Ireland’s sense of humour, our DNA of reality and faith, and good solid guidance.

CLC Giving Cake Chart 2017

Like a pie-chart, but it’s made out of a cake.

We are thankful for generous giving of CLCers that will help us to give to people for missionary work in Morocco, fighting sex trafficing in Moscow, church planting in Great Britain, emergency aid around the globe, as well as community needs in Cambridge and supporting Christians in Parliament!  Most of all, we are thankful for our generous Father God who gives us every good thing that we enjoy.

What is Baptism and why might you choose to participate in such a ceremony?

Pickle It’s like a cucumber being dunked and becoming a pickle.  The Christ follower is dunked temporarily, but the permanent change to the gerkin signifies the fact that we as Christians are never the same again!  We are a new creation.
Facebook event information here. We have learnings to hear and see for your consideration plus Sarah & Tim from a previous CLC baptism here:

Detailed help finding Impington Village College Sport Centre below:Full directions are here.

The Impington Sport Centre is not at the same entrance as the college, so here’s a few photos to help so you get there early so you don’t miss out on any of the fun:

You’re almost there, but don’t turn here.

This is the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, if you see this on your right while you’re on New Road,, take the next turn on the same side of the road:

This is the correct turn from New Road

Here’s the turn off from New Road that you want to take, with the IVC logo and sign saying “Sports Centre” below:

After that turn, take the immediate left and you’re in the car park:

Here’s a few of our previous Baptism memories to look at here.

We hope to see you there on January 8th at 12:45 pm!  Feel free to come early to get changed for swimming, find the location, so we can use the whole time for Baptizing and fun swimming!

thanks,

What’s the best way to learn?  hearing is okay, watching is better, but doing is the best.  Our kids had another chance to learn the Kingdom value of serving today as they served lunch to CLC!

Emelia the servant 2

Zachary the servant & Simon

Emelia & Dan the servants with Simon

Dan the Servant2 Orla the servant Elijah the servant Bethia the Servant 2

They had a lot of fun and did such a great job.  You know how when you serve you are last to get some food, and sometimes some of the choices run out before you can eat yourself?

CLC at Sunday Lunch Cashman family celebrate Sarahs birthday at CLC Emelia serves grandmother Tom serves Ian and Emelia at CLC handsome Dan and Mum

Well, our Kingdom Kids experienced that part of serving–and handled it really well too!  What great lessons, and what great kids.

It wasn’t all work.  There was a chance to decorate strawberries too.

It’s great fun singing together to worship Him.  It’s a Biblical way to give Him glory and honour.  Plus we are reminded wonderful things about Him and cool stuff about us too!  Here’s some of our favourite songs these days

Here’s a YouTube playlist, with our top faves and Here’s it is on Spotify and here it is on Google Play.  Good Good Father is a favourite of the favourites, as is All Sons and Daughters and Will Reagan/United Pursuit. And, of course, Rend Collective.  Save this playlist or come back to this webpage to see what new songs we add:
