We were thankful and happy to join some friends doing a litter pick ’round Nuns Way as we celebrated church by worshipping God in a different way.
Although it was cold, we didn’t get rained on much, and you can see we still had smiles to give after collecting many bags of litter.
Do you measure the success of your worship by how you feel? I didn’t feel God’s presence, but He’s right here with us nonetheless. More importantly, we can know we’ve given him a sacrifice of praise and enjoyed His life in our midst, while doing a little to put a smile on the face of our community.
You may know that litter picking and all sorts of other practical hands-on serving in CB4 is part of our CLC history. But did you know that today we found a decent LG phone while expressing God’s love and getting our hands dirty? Unfortunately I missed getting a snapshot, but I do have this photo of another interesting find at a previous CLC litter-pick:
Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!
Thank you all very very much for all the donations, displays, help setting up and packing up, manning the stall, face painting and talking to people, picking up and dropping off, giving up of free time and general provision of all sorts you all gave to help the CLC stall at Chesterton Festival run smoothly.
Margarets Kids fundraising
Despite a couple of heavy rain showers and a few strong gusts of wind it was a most enjoyable and successful day. We raised over £70 for Margarets Kids, talked to lots of people and painted many small faces. We were also a presence in the community where we meet on Sundays and played a part in a positive community event.

meeting folks interested in the next step on from the dads and lads walking trip
sharing with football friends about the work we do as a church.
Who knows the blessings Father has for us–and those he is putting in our lives?
Want to join our CB4 missional community on a Potential evening? Anyone is welcome, it’d be great to have you there with us. We’ve had one where we learned some easy and delicious recipes. If that isn’t enough, we tasted the healthy yummy food we’d made together as well.
For our May Potential night, we planted some seeds together and talked about ways to find refreshing and rejuvenation.
Whether it’s gardening or walking or writing or horseback riding, it’s good to be reminded to take the time and make the effort to recharge your batteries. The seeds we planted will make great little plants to sell for Margaret’s Kids at the Chesterton Festival on the 30th of June.
It’s helpful to be clear. It’s good to have a focus. Here’s our CLC focus for the next while. Be encouraged, be inspired! Pray and ask God how He wants you to contribute and thanks for all you are already doing for our great Cambridge cause!

Come to the end of yourself and wondering what’s next?
Whatever you suffer from we believe that God wants you to know how special you are to Him, and how much He cares about you individually. We believe that Jesus can heal any condition or sickness and that He can do this today.
Sessions: 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm
The evening is free of charge. On arrival you’ll be greeted and welcomed to free drinks and hospitality.
Each session will begin with a 15min presentation of live music and a short talk introducing Jesus and explaining his power to heal. This will be followed by 45mins on sofa’s and one-to-ones with trusted local spiritual prayers to have a listening ear, receive prayer for healing and spiritual consultation. Once you have been prayed for you are free to go or stay for further Easter hospitality served throughout the evening for guests to enjoy.
Prayer and consultation covers: All kinds of illness and health conditions including prayer for cancer, arthritis, depression, anxiety, relationship-tension, things troubling our thoughts, guidance for future planning and dream interpretation.
The right of personal dignity and confidentiality is respected. No further contact is expected out of the evening but guests can make follow up with the teams if so wished. No childcare is provided for on these sessions.
Sponsored and overseen by City Life Church – Cambridge in partnership with Faith Life and other local churches.
With blue sky’s and sun shining it was a fine team from City Life Church that managed to clear seven bags of rubbish and gardening waste as we concentrated tidying the front ‘avenue’ of beds as one approaches the main entrance. We really hope it looks a little more trimmed, cleaned-up and de-weeded.
The team included a gang of ex-Colleges children and parents. All keen.
Sunday 25th March 2012 1pm-4pm we are rolling up our sleeves and taking the afternoon to love Kings Hedges with forks, spades and any other means to undertake some projects in the community. With projects coming in, if you think you’d like to be part of the community action team contact: firstname.lastname@example.org for more details. All welcome, family groups ideal.
