City Life Church, Cambridge started 24 years ago with a vision, passion and boldness to do something risky. It's been a blast, and like everything worthwhile, it's been difficult as well as joyous. Still, we see God has brought our time to an end. As of June 10th CLC Cambridge will disperse, sending our final number out to change the world--the mission God gave us right from the very start. Thank you to everyone who's joined the amazing adventure! There is so much to be grateful for. We still identify as family and we remain friends as we enjoy finding out what God has for us all next. --Kevin, Tom, Lyn & Tim
Good News euangelion
Once upon a time there was a family. See them huddled together in the loft with the door locked and the curtains pulled closed tight? They are scared as they wait to hear news of the nearby army invasion. Will they loose their home? They know they might loose their freedom, even their lives! They are waiting expectantly because they know how these battles go. One of their youngsters volunteered to go out to the edges of the town and find out what is happening with the battle. He’s going to come back with the news. Will it be bad, or will it be good?
If we have won the battle, if we will be safe, then he’ll shout, “euangelion!” Everyone knows this means, “good news”. It means we’ll be healthy instead of dead. It means we’ll be free instead of slaves. It means we’ll be happy instead of afraid and we can look forward to a good future!
Father God sent Jesus to die on the cross to win a worldwide battle for humanity. He rose from that death to bring us life to replace our own spiritual death euangelion!
Jesus defeated selfishness on the cross so we can live our lives for each other and find true contentment and real purpose euangelion!
Jesus suffered everything as a human but overcame it all as God. One of the great things about this awesome victory is that we can enjoy wholeness where we have been sick. We can be healthy and leave behind our mental and physical illnesses. euangelion!
